The famed Western States Trail, where the Tevis Cup, the world's oldest endurance ride  -100 miles from auburn to Olympic Valley (Lake Tahoe) in ONE DAY- It's been held annually since 1955. Over the years, the winning time has been anywhere from under 11 hours to nearly 16.5 hours-  Horse and rider must reach the Timed Finish line within 24 hours elapsed time from the official starting time to be eligible for a completion.  The ride is sanctioned by the American Endurance Ride Conference (AERC) and the Tevis is recognized as the founding ride of endurance riding.
